Global Technology Infrastructure – Lead Engineer – Associate – London recruitment

The Client Technology Services (CTS) organization within GTI delivers measurable business value by providing core desktop technology solutions that meet business demand while realizing cost efficiencies. CTS works with our Line of Business partners to develop standardized, resilient operating environments and implement a global technology strategy for the firm's 183,000 workstations and 55,000 mobile device users.
As a lead Engineer for the Mobile Platform Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, testing and documenting application server infrastructure solution.
In this position, you will work on Blackberry, Good Technology and other new innovative application server solutions.
This is a fast paced environment and you will be expected to be a quick learner and take on new products and become the subject matter expert.
You will represent the engineering team as a Tier 4-level support for escalated issues as required.
It is beneficial if you that understand the BlackBerry BES solution from end-to-end or similar mobile technology such as Good.
Having comprehensive engineering skills, scripting and a desire to learn new technologies are also key attributes you must have and will be considered in place of BlackBerry knowledge.
Your core responsibilities will include: application server builds/patching/hotfixes, planning, testing, documentation and deployment process architecture; ensuring Service Levels are maintained by use of performance monitoring and alerting tools; capacity management and trend analysis; working with other infrastructure teams and understanding the firm's Engineering Board processes and procedures - ensuring they are adhered to for quality engineered solutions.In this position, you will manage your own tasks and projects, ensuring timely project deliverables and maintaining control of all tasks.
Regular project updates with key performance indicators and metrics are required to both the Program Support Office and your Mobile Platform Engineering manager.
You will coordinate with Application Development teams where appropriate. Identify areas of opportunity and raise appropriate engineering team project initiation documentation.
Scripting skills are essential to enable you to develop automated tools to deploy, manage and maintain scalable enterprise solutions.
Other responsibilities include reporting weekly achievements, and attending meetings when requested, with appropriate preparation. All project tasks are to have timely documentation.
