Globally Renowned Investment Bank seeks Senior Corporate Credit Risk Analyst – London
Role – Senior Credit Risk Analyst
Location – London
Salary - £Competitive Base Salary + Excellent Bonus Benefits
The Senior Credit Analyst will report to and work very closely with the Head of Risk to manage the Bank’s credit risks within the “Risk Appetite” established by the Board of Directors, while assisting in the process of putting profitable business on the Bank’s books.
What the Role Involves
- Providing high quality and independent credit risk assessments and recommendations for corporate, financial institution and sovereign counterparties, issuers and clients as well as providing comprehensive and accurate credit analysis of country risks
- The role requires a significant degree of problem solving and technical knowledge in order to provide technical support, advice and assistance to all Business Areas on all credit related matters
- Presenting advice in respect of the structuring of prospective transactions and guidance in respect of the completion of credit proposals to ensure all risks are identified in an efficient manner
- Assisting the Head of Risk with arranging Credit Committee meetings and approvals and the presentation of credit proposals to Head Office
- Assist the Head of Risk in establishing and maintaining credit risk management controls, systems and procedures that meet the requirements of the Head of Risk, the Bank’s regulators and external auditors
- Monitoring adherence to approved credit limits and to ensure that the Head of Risk is informed of all material excesses on the same working day as identified.
- Ensuring that all credit risks are properly monitored and controlled and to ensure that they are all formally reviewed at least every 12 months.
- Minimising the time taken between problem recognition and cash recovery and undertaking regular monitoring and review of ‘problem loans’
Ideal Candidate
- Educated to degree and/or appropriate professional qualification level.
- Experience in analyzing credit risks of all types, with particular emphasis on emerging markets.
- A sound understanding of a broad range of wholesale market products. A basic understanding of market risks and operational risks would also be an advantage.
- A good understanding of the FSA regulatory framework
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good team skills, in particular the ability to work closely with the business areas while retaining independence
All Candidates should have an ability to shoulder responsibility, show initiative, make decisions and work under pressure.
