Must have five years minimum experience on Speedking to be applicable

JOB TITLE: GLUER OPERATOR

JOB SUMMARY:
Set up, maintain, and operate gluer equipment at the required production speeds, while controlling quality, waste, safety, and good housekeeping standards. Know how to feed and catch on gluer machines. Have knowledge of adhesives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor production schedules checking for present job running and for the next scheduled job to be run.
• Review factory order checking for specifications, labels, and schedules.
• Perform make-ready setting machine up to match the specifications of the factory order.
• Select the correct adhesive.
• Mount and dismount glue pots.
• Verify Feeder and Catcher have proper materials.
• Run equipment at required production speeds, while maintaining quality, low waste percentage and safety precautions.
• Relieve Feeder and Catcher when running through breaks and lunch.
• Ensure quality specifications are maintained continuously while running equipment.
• Solve operating problems.
• Make adjustments to ensure proper amount of glue is on carton.
• Place labels on corrugated carton containers.
• Complete production reports and fill in log books.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance including lubrication and repairs except for electrical problems.
• Train and supervise Feeder/Catchers.
• Comply with all safety policies and requirements and ensure guards are kept in place.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Department Manager or Group Leader.
• Maintain proper personal hygiene habits and uniform cleanliness in order to produce safe products that are free of contamination.
• Employ proper departmental sanitation and cleaning techniques, performing housekeeping tasks throughout the work shift on a continuing basis to maintain the work areas in a sanitary condition.• Employ proper departmental sanitation and cleaning techniques, performing housekeeping tasks throughout the work shift on a continuing basis to maintain the work areas in a sanitary condition.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Experience on SpeedKing machinein folding carton industry
• Understand and follow basic written and verbal instructions.
• Perform essential mental and physical functions of the job.
• Comply with all company safety policies and requirements.
• Consistently report to work on time whenever scheduled.
• Accurately record production and quality data in either electronic or hard-copy format as required.
• Possess a thorough understanding of AIB guidelines for Packaging Facilities, including the proper techniques for maintenance cleaning, daily housekeeping tasks, and deep cleaning tasks as well as the documentation of each.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Continuous (5.5+ hours per day) standing/walking.
Occasional (0 to 2.5 hours per day) lifting from floor to waist high up to 40 pounds.
Occasional (0 to 2.5 hours per day) pushing/pulling.
Occasional (0 to 2.5 hours per day) reaching/stretching.
Occasional (0 to 2.5 hours per day) power grasping up to 25 pounds.

High school diploma or equivalent.
