OVERVIEW
Reporting to SSGM Operations Manager, in APAC,the leader of Taiwan teamisresponsible to lead the group to manage confirmation process for FX, MM and derivative trades executed by SSGM Taiwan, and to monitor trade flow to ensure deals confirmed correctly and any discrepancies and unmatched deals resolved ASAP. He/she is also responsible for leading process improvement and maintaining regular dialogue with local subcustodians for better processing. He/she is also responsible to represent the team in the industry and global initiatives; drive strategies for the department to streamline processes and motivate the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the day-to-day Taiwan Operations team in the support of local trading and sales activities
- Devise strategies to streamline processes
- Represents the firm in local and global FX related initiatives including market changes, regulatory changes
- Monitor the complete transaction process from dealer input to the settlement of trade, in order to ensure all transactions originating from the Dealing Room have been correctly captured in WSS and settled on value date
- Ensure all deals are being processed in a timely manner and prior to currency deadlines.
- Perform liquidity management tasks including monitoring of cash positions, etc.
- Monitor Confirmation Matching Monitor for local trades and follow up with Front Office where necessary
- Prioritize work according to currency deadlines – ensure any late deals received are brought to the attention of supervisor and appropriate steps are taken
- Resolve discrepancies and booking issues efficiently
- Ensure full understanding and adherence to corporate risk policy and standard operating procedures
- Ensure all internal controls and audit requirements are met according to procedures/policies
- Ensure errors and SSGM's exposure to financial loss are minimized
- Respond promptly to client (internal/external) concerns, needs and requests
- Demonstrate a willingness to support change/initiatives within SSGM (locally/globally)
- Demonstrate ability to take on tasks without instruction
- Assist with providing coverage to FX/MM Confirmations/Settlements and the Operations department during times of increased workload, staff absences and public holidays
- Identify ways to improve daily operations processes
- Coach and develop operations team
- Lead or participate in global projects for improving efficiency and consistency
- Represent the team in regulators or company audit
- Liaise with local subcustodian network
Qualifications:
To successfully perform these functions, you will need to demonstrate communication and analytical skills and be well organized. The ability to operate effectively while meeting deadlines isessential.
- Bachelor degree or equivalentat least
- 5 +years of financial services preferred, at least 1 – 3 years' supervisory experience required, SSGM experience a plus
- Market/Product knowledge preferred(FX/Portfolio Solutions)
- Deadline and detail oriented
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Demonstrate the ability to problem solving
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities effectively
- A strong aptitude for information technology including MS Office and SWIFT
- Flexible approach to work hours
