Your new duties and responsibilities
Group Planning and Controlling (GPC) carries out analyses and provides recommendations for the Allianz SE board and other parties in order to facilitate the value-based steering of Allianz Group. GPC defines necessary controlling instruments, processes and management accounting standards.
- Oversee financial performance of Allianz Group insurance companies via value-based approach
- Analyze risk-based performance, business development, capital allocation and critical issues of the lines of business in the companies included in scope
- Supervise competitive strategy considering market and customer trends
- Evaluate planned business developments in the course of preparation for annual Strategic and Panning Dialogues
- Project work, especially with regards to developing methodology, reporting and controlling processes for companies in scope
- In close cooperation with other departments in the H2 area (i.e. Accounting, Risk, Actuarial, Tax, Compliance etc.) develop business analyses and descriptions of performance for monthly and quarterly financial reporting both for internal and external users
- To ensure efficient use of the time of the company and effective execution of the H2 role, coordinate requirements, contacts and communications between various H2 departments and the companies under scope
- Develop role as an „internal investment analyst“ to consolidate the input of the OE, H2 and other Group Center departments and give an independent opinion of the companies under scope
- Provide financial controlling services to Holding Board members and Business Division leaders for companies within scope
- Build trust and respect for GPC’s financial controlling role with strong customer focus, keeping customers informed and providing current information both internally and externally
Required qualifications and experience
Qualifications
- University degree with distinction in economics, finance, applied mathematics or related field
- Excellent command of the English and German language (written and spoken)
- Experience with SAP / ECCS accounting system would be a plus
Experience
- At least 3 years relevant experience in financial, actuarial or risk-theoretical analysis, preferably in an operational unit
- Good understanding of IFRS accounting
- Capital Market know-how
- Professional qualifications in actuarial, finance or risk-management professions
- Experience in value-based management and reporting (e.g. embedded value) and/or modeling of financial or insurance products or investments
- Experience in developing a business plan or annual financial plan for a company
- Previous professional experience in project or team management
- Strong analytical skills and a good grasp of quantitative methods
