About the department
As an integral part of Wells Fargo’s Global Transaction Bank (GTB), the Global Payment Services (GPS) is a $250mn business focused on Global Financial Institutions. With revenues expected to double by 2015, the GPS business seeks talented and experienced resources that can support the group goals and objectives.
The Payments Consulting, Strategy and Customer Experience Team is a small and critical group within GPS that supports the sales efforts by owning the strategy, financial results and customer experience of the key payment suites which are offered to GFI clients. The Payments Consulting and Strategy team members have an external focus on the Industry, local payment regulations, client requirements and the competition. Internally, the team works closely with relationship and product sales, product management, operations and technology to define, grow, consult and market our Global Payment Services.
This role can be based in London, UK or Frankfurt, Germany.
Responsibilities
The primary areas of responsibility for the role are as follows:
• Working with the Multi-Currency Team Leader, define the strategy and support the sales goals for EUR, GBP and Multi-Currency London clearing.
• Provide technical sales, positioning and training to GPS and GFI; support large, complex deals.
• Define the vision for EU clearing capabilities and work with product management, Ops and IT to ensure delivery.
• Support the review and strategic plan for new opportunities in Emerging Payments (e.g. mobile) and Emerging Client segments (e.g. postal organizations) within the EU.
• Work with product management to identify and close competitive gaps and seek opportunities to increase development capacity.
• Support tactical sales campaigns to maximize current revenue opportunities.
• Ensure a harmonized client experience for EU services as we have for USD.
• Position and adapt EU services to local regulations.
• Participate and speak in Industry forums.
Requirements
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
• Demonstrated knowledge of EUR, GBP and multi-currency clearing.
• Expert knowledge of USD clearing.
• Extensive proven payments experience with a global market focus on Financial Institutions.
• Knowledge of European regulations, market practices, industry trends and competitive environment.
• Strong communicator.
• Ability to work across diverse teams including product management and development, sales, operations, IT, legal and compliance.
• Results oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
• Analytical, problem solving skills; detailed knowledge around payment product functionality, operational processes and system processes.
• Solid time management skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
