Graduate Field / Commissioning Engineer - Marine / Offshore Job

Under general guidance and minimal supervision, performs a wide range of engineering tasks and ensures proper installation, service and commissioning of products and services. Provides technical support for installation and commissioning of projects and provides maintenance, breakdown emergency support and remote troubleshooting. Essential Responsibilities - Performs troubleshooting activities at site locations to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective actions - Performs installation and commissioning activities at customer site locations (must be capable of working unsupervised and leading small teams) - Under the direction of a senior engineer performs a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of GE systems - Develops presentations and provides training and instruction to customers on system operations - Promotes sales of maintenance services - Performs other related engineering tasks to facilitate proper commissioning and customer satisfaction - Provides continuous, 24 hour by 7 day a week, support in response to customer calls for service - Ensures appropriate response and service is provided to customer Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: - Ability to travel to destinations in the USA or overseas on short notice and for extended periods of time to troubleshoot existing GE systems Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Desired Characteristics - Experience or course work in drives and/or power and/or automation systems - Ability to execute increasingly complicated assignments, which require considerable engineering skill and creative ability and independent judgment - Solid computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office applications - Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures and practices - Must be able to make decisions with regards to completion of tasks and job methods and follow through with results of outcome - Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills essential - Ability to interact and communicate with internal customers. Internal customers may include production, engineers, and management personnel - Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals, essential - Ability to independently arrange and organize work efforts on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis - Ability to meet tight deadlines - Ability to multi-task on a consistent basis Why join one great company when you can join many?
