We are looking for a graduate with commercial Java/J2EE development experience to join our team. Role Responsibilities

 

If successful, you will be on a 2 year programme of rotation, which will include training, development and both Smart based and client based assignment experience.  This will allow you to gain broad experience across the business and you will gain exposure to a number of business critical projects in many business sectors with varying roles and responsibilities. The key to this role is flexibility; flexibility to transfer skills from project to project, move across sectors embracing new challenges and developing new skills whilst working to tight deadlines.

 

Technical Experience

§  Graduate with at least a 2:1 in an IT related degree (i.e. Computer Science/Software Engineering)

§  Development experience in Java/J2EE and related technologies, such as Spring, Hibernate,  Servlets

§  Experience with build tools such as Ant, Subversion, Maven.

§  Good analysis and design skills (including knowledge of UML)

§  Good knowledge of databases

§  Knowledge of other web based technologies such as XML or XSLT

§  A demonstrable willingness to undertake further learning to improve and enhance existing skills

§  Knowledge of test driven development, Continuous Integration tools and Automated build tools

Other Skills/Experience

§  Good interpersonal skills

§  Ability to communicate clearly to a wide range of people both internally and externally to the
organisation

§  Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure

§  Ability to work effectively as part of a team

§  Willingness to be flexible in terms of work location and to undertake work at client sites as and when required
