Graduate Market Research Analyst

We are looking for a Graduate Market Research Analyst to join our Global Research team on a one year fixed term contract. It is essential that applicants are fluent in both English and one of the following languages: German, Polish or Finnish.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

·         Reporting to the Regional Editor, London, you will research specific markets across a dedicated Northern European territory; Germany/Poland/Finland, using secondary published resources as well as trade research where necessary.

·         To find quality, timely and reliable data specifically on the market size, market segmentation, market shares, brand shares, key players and forecasts for each market.

·         To input all relevant data into a web-based platform which will be edited and validated by our regional editor.

·         Aim to continuously improve the research process, from the sources of information used, transfer of knowledge and final product quality.

·         Provide insight and opinion into the markets where required.

·         Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with contacts within research sources.

 

Key qualifications/experience:

 

·         Research/Analytical skills – the work requires an analytical mind, the researcher must be able to analyse information content, prioritise its usefulness and corroborate data from diverse information sources.

·         General knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods would be beneficial, as would experience of different research and analytical tools.

·         Language skills – fluency in either German, Polish or Finnish and English 

·         Market knowledge - Candidates must have a good understanding of the brand landscape of either Germany, Poland or Finland.

·         Communication skills - although most of the work involves the research of published sources the researcher must also be able to converse with senior trade contacts in telephone interviews. The researcher must be confident, empathetic, quickly establish good rapport and have the ability to think on their feet.

·         Numeric skills - this position involves working with market data, therefore the researcher will require a natural affinity with numbers.

·         Computer skills – Excel and Word experience are essential.

·         Internet research – a large number of our sources such as trade associations and company information are found on the internet. Therefore the researcher should be familiar with the internet and relevant search engines.

·         Qualifications – Degree level, or equivalent
