Reporting Directly to the Operations Manager, you will provide Production Planning support to all the Plant's machined and assembled components, manufactured for automotive giants.

Purpose of PLANNING CONTROLLER role

To provide an operational materials Planning service to two production areas and two business units

Dimensions of role:
• Learn the business and develop as an individual
• BU relations (supply chain members)
• Planning Support to Planning Manager, Management team and BU supply chain members.
• Plant liaison with onsite logistics

Production Planning:
Production Planning incorporates a multiplicity of production elements in the pursuit to realise accurate delivery times to the customer. The Production Planners task is to exploit the manufacturing process to full potential.

Core Functions (Job Dimensions):
• Capacity Requirement Planning: Establishing, measuring and adjusting limits or levels of capacity. "What is required to complete the task"?
• Supply Chain Planning Scheduling: Improve efficiency of the supply chain.
• Simulation Sequencing: simple and effective way of constructing a schedule.
• New Product Planning: Evaluating, controlling, monitoring and reporting the impact of a new product within the manufacturing process.

Principle Accountability
• Order Management. (Customer Focus)
• Schedule Adherence .
• Customer service liaison - what is required and when?
• New product introduction visibility - communication, scheduling and progressing to completion.
• Finished good stock management.
• WIP management

Background Required: Bachelors Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain subject covering:
• Inventory and production management concepts / systems
• Demand and Supply Chain concepts
• Operational and investigative Improvement techniques (Example. VSM)
• Shop Floor data collection systems
• Simulation modelling

Likely academic background
• Progressing towards IOM (Institute of Operation Management) qualification
