Graduate RPG (iSeries) Analyst
Our client, an investment bank, require an RPG Analyst on a more junior or Graduate level to provide support for the core banking application Equation and its associated interfaces and dependent applications.
You will need your core skills to include:
· RPG Experience:
· RPG/RPGLE/CL/CLLE development and maintenance experience.
· Experience on DB2/400.
· Experience using Turnover for RPG source control and release management.
· Maintain existing proprietary RPG code
· Ideally has experience on Misys Equation in the following areas:
· Knowledge of the Equation Data schema
· Knowledge of the user functionality.
· Knowledge of executing the EOD cycles.
Your Role and Responsibilities as the RPG (iSeries) Programmer are:
· Provide 1st and 2nd line support for the Equation application
· Provide 1st and 2nd line support for all interfaces ‘from and to’ Equation
· Analyse, develop and release system maintenance fixes
· Perform daily checks and monitoring of key systems
· Assist other team members in the support of other technology areas
· Adhere to the Banks change, incident and InfoSec controls and processes
· Ensure the production environment is supported by up-to-date and accurate documentation
· Provide 1st line support for the production iSeries platform
The Essential Skills and Experience required for the RPG (iSeries) Programmer are:
· Experience of working in an Operational role providing support to both business and other IT users
· Experience working in the financial service industry preferred
· Experience working on Core banking platforms
· Ability to work under pressure and to tight time frames.
· Good listening skills and not jumping to solutions.
· Strong analytical and diagnostic skills to understand complex infrastructures and issues, enabling a clear and concise approach to be used in issue stabilisation and resolution.
