Graduate Scheme NYSE LIFFE recruitment

To work as part of the NYSE Liffe business.

The candidate will be working in a fast paced and demanding environment.

During the first five months the candidate will have placements in the following business areas:

Business Development

- Responsible for gaining new business by identifying, meeting and establishing relationships with member and non-member users of derivatives and creating the conditions for them to establish or increase their traded volume of products.

Account Management

- The Account Management team owns commercial relationships with their assigned accounts/customers' portfolios and focuses on growing volume and revenue from the assigned territories. This is achieved by identifying, meeting and establishing relationships with users of derivatives within assigned customers and creating the conditions for them to establish or increase their NYSE Liffe business. The Account Management team works closely with the Product and Business Development teams for the assigned territory or customer group.

Product Development

- Responsible for all aspects of the product development cycle from initial product development and maintenance, through to marketing strategy, and implementation.

Market Services

- The front line for the LIFFE CONNECTT trading platform. The team monitors and observes contracts, ensuring that all transactions are executed according to the rules and trading procedures, and that a fair and orderly market is maintained. In addition, Market Services is responsible for establishing a daily settlement figure for the contracts and for investigating any trades that are considered to be away from 'fair value' in the market.

In all of the above areas of responsibility, the candidate will work under the close supervision of more senior team members. Contact with external parties will be under the supervision of colleagues, but assuming satisfactory performance and growth the level of autonomy will increase over time, as appropriate. 

Any degree discipline

Strong academic record and must have a degree at 2:1 or above; Preferably some banking or finance experience during their degree course or since graduation and able to display an interest in financial markets; Fluent in English.

Fluency in another language would be desirable but not essential; Interpersonal and presentation skills; Analytical with proven problem solving skills; Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; Fast learner with an enthusiastic, pro-active, "can do" attitude; Flexible approach; Able to work as part of a team;

Must have the right to work in the UK.
