Graduate Trainee- Sales, Dealing & Operations

When you join, you'll begin a 6 week structured training course within our Trading Services team before gaining direct exposure to clients. The training programme – which uses a range of teaching techniques – develops your understanding of IG’s products, processes and procedures, and enables you to learn about the work we do from the people who actually do it.

After consolidating your initial learning through on-going client contact, you will then train for – and undergo – IG's internal bet test. Upon successful completion, you will go on to take execution lines and book trades along with your regular client support duties within Trading Services.

Your formal training is complemented by orientation and team-building events, and exposure to a wide range of business, market and product insights through team exchanges, in-house workshops and seminars. You will receive relevant IT and professional skills training specifically tailored to your needs, and we will also support you in your studies towards relevant FSA Regulatory qualifications.

Much of your continued learning and development will be on the job. To help you make the most of the expertise of those already working at IG, and to actively support and encourage you to maintain high levels of performance, you will be paired with a mentor from one of the relevant business areas.

Within 9 – 12 months of joining the Graduate Trainee programme, successful trainees could expect to join any one of these 4 roles within Sales and Dealing Operations:

Our Premium Client Managers provide excellent trade execution, account management and customer service to the “Premium” client base. This role is best suited to confident, outgoing candidates who enjoy working with clients and attending client events.

Our Dealers are responsible for quoting spreads and appropriately managing IG's subsequent exposure. This role is best suited to highly numerate, analytical candidates who can demonstrate confidence and assertiveness within pressurised situations.

Our trading services team provides first class support to our global client base in all aspects of service delivery, including trade dispute resolution, responding to general and technical queries, and executing trades. This role is best suited to individuals who thrive on providing an excellent client experience, applying a thorough, logical and analytical approach to resolving queries.
