PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Researches grant funding opportunities consistent with County goals, plans and needs. Conducts initial evaluation of new grant opportunities, and participates in assessments of ongoing grant funding. Writes all grant applications and prepares/assembles required documentation.

 

EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Secures financial resources to support County goals and objectives.
• Prepares and disseminates reports as requested, including quarterly reports.
• Monitors all phases of grant awards and closing, including assessment of technical progress and performance.
• Assists in creation of evaluation programs and grants management, and conducts internal evaluations.
• Consults with content area experts in identifying, planning and evaluating grant proposals
• Researches grant programs and plans; provides timely advice and information on opportunities, requirements and procedures.
• Partners with departments to identify and prioritize project needs and identify content experts.
• Participates in meetings and discussions in which decisions affecting county projects are made.
• Understands and adjusts to changes in priorities, directions, internal and external expectations, and industry trends and keeps others informed.
• Generates any public notice required and ensures timely posting.
• Prepares all documents for Public Hearing/Business Meeting.
• Completes all grant related reports, obtains needed signature/approval, and submits.
• Maintains all grant documentation and files as required.
• Ensures grant execution is consistent with grant requirements and County grant policies, procedures and audit requirements.
• Obtains verification that all vendors/contractors/payees are eligible to receive federal funds and are not listed on the federal suspension and disbarment list.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience: Minimum of two years of grant writing experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities are required. Work experience in a government agency is preferred.
• Education and Training: Bachelor's degree in English, Public or Business Administration, or related field is required.
• Background Check: Must pass a criminal (CBI) background check.

 

 

DAYS/HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
