Graphic Designer
Description: AFSC is seeking an experienced graphic designer to join our in-house creative communications team at the headquarters location in Arlington, VA. This position is to provide graphics support for a wide variety of needs to client deliverables and internal requests. Job Duties: Aid in the development of branding and visual identities Operate as the consultant for marketing initiatives and strategic communications, both internal and contract driven Apply branding, developed either internally or externally, to marketing and informational materials, large and small editorial work, web-site mock-ups, PPT/Word templates, tradeshow exhibits, and other varying applications Design and develop graphics that depict data, hierarchy, processes, conceptual ideas, etc. Content formatting and graphics cleanup for briefings, documents, and forms Production tasks; including proofing artwork, preparing work for print, communicating with printers and vendors, and in-house print/production Coordinate actions within and outside of creative team to meet product expectations and work deadlines Evaluate successes and opportunities for improvement Assist Creative lead and Corporate Management as needed Demonstrate individual behaviors consistent with and contributing to a positive and productive team Possible interaction with clients and frequent interaction and collaboration with Upper-management and Project/Program managers Adhere to AFSC policies and procedures Required skills/Qualifications: 3 + years of professional experience in the field of graphic design or similar within a corporate environment BA or BS degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design - BFA preferred Committed to AFSCs Core Values and understand its value to the military community Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) â?"Quark is not required nor used Possess at least intermediate skills with Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) Knowledge of print/production processes Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Experience with building and maintaining a standard of excellence in a team-based government or professional services environment Capable of functioning with little direction Possess strong organizational skills regarding team resources and structure, project management, and self management Has ability to work independently as well as be a team player Honor confidentiality Additional Skills/Qualifications Desired: Copy writing for client deliverables and corporate communications Technical editing Experience in Desktop Publishing Experience with HTML and CSS (these skills are not required, but are beneficial) Please apply online at: http://hire.jobvite.com/CompanyJobs/Careers.aspx?c=qG39Vfwxcs=9cv9Vfw ...
