Graphic & Web Specialist Job in San Diego, California Us
The Graphics and Web Specialist will be responsible for designing artwork and graphic content for a variety of print and digital communications. He/she will prepare original layouts, designs and materials for review, selection and approval. Create graphical user interfaces for websites, and provides art production support to the department as required.
The essential duties and responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to:
- Designing and producing art and copy layouts for internal and external collaterals such as brochures, pamphlets, flyers, information booklets, presentations, banners invitations and other media.
- Creating a variety of proposed layouts, designs, and materials for review, selection and approval.
- Coordinating in-house production of materials for meetings and special events.
- Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements as needed, preparing final files for pre-press. Checking proofs. Reviewing quality of final product before release.
- Working with a team to produce two annual printed publications. Proofing advertising submissions, formatting information for layout, inserting files, designing pages, placing advertisements and preparing and reviewing files for press.
- Collaborating with external partners on special events, promotions, marketing campaigns, or specific design projects.
- Working with outside vendors such as photographers, illustrators, paper supplies or printers.
- Responsible for making updates to websites, designing and disseminating email marketing campaigns, creating online advertisements and developing online marketing materials. Refreshing website content to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information and images.
- Performing website development including HTML coding, CSS styling content management systems, graphical user interface concepts.
- Responsible for photographing, or coordinating photo shoots for tradeshow, corporate, employee, press event, and tourism related subjects as needed.
- Organizing, maintaining and archiving artwork, photography and video databases. Retrieving files as required.
- Designing and distributing quarterly e-newsletter
- Designing advertisements for printed publications and on the web.
- Coordinating materials and creating signage for our Welcome Signage Program.
- Designing and distributing a monthly sales report.
- Presenting original ideas, creating mock-ups and working with team to brainstorm ideas. Acting as a creative resource and advisor for all communication projects.
- Translating complex business concepts into simple visual representations for presentations or other materials.
- Working within budget and coming up with creative solutions for projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and two to fours years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability in graphics design and able to produce high quality printed and electronic materials.
- Creative skills to take written and visual materials and develop those into collateral or presentational materials in a printed or electronic format.
- Ability to update and maintain website content
- Must be highly organized, self-motivated and team oriented.
- Computer literate with in depth knowledge of Mac and PC operating platforms, Adobe Create Suite 5, Adobe Acrobat 9, MS Office applications and current web browsers.
- Must be able to read and write HTML code and CSS styles.
- Have knowledge of FTP applications, content management systems, social medial practices, and website analytics.
- Must have experience using 35mm digital camera and is skilled at digital image correcting and manipulating.
Salary Range: $44,611.84 - $55,764.80 Annually
