Qualifications:
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
-High School diploma, Tech School a plus
-Strong mechanical background with 3-5 years experience in a machining environment
-Able to read and understand/interpret blueprints, charts and specifications as well as written instructions
-In-depth knowledge and skill in the set-up and operation of various lapping and grinding machines to lap and grind roller dressers to engineering specification
-Ability to operate grinding machines to grind diamond rolls with diamond wheel and grind templates on large cylindrical grinders
-Ability to operate an optical comparator, TSK gages and Talysurf
-Able to set up grinding equipment and begin forming the diamond to specified tolerances up to .000020"
-Expertise at lapping "A" class radii
-Ability to understand and utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments, hand and power tools
-Solid communication, reading and shop math skills
-Detail oriented, able to maintain accurate records
-Quick learner, self-starter, positive minded, service oriented, customer focused
-Good decision making skills
-Able to handle multiple and diverse manufacturing tasks with minimum supervision; willingness to be flexible with job responsibilities
