This position oversees and provides grooming services, on-the-job training, and customer service, and offers professional challenges and excitement plus the stability that comes with decades of successful business growth. Specific responsibilities include: Supervise the daily operations of Pet Stylist(s) and Grooming Assistants located in the same store Perform basic grooming services including brushing, bathing, and conditioning of animals. May perform cleaning of ears and the trimming of nails. Follow pet parent's instructions or Breed Standards when clipping, stripping or trimming an animals coat. Complete de-matting and flea dipping as per instructions from pet parents Complete daily grooming payroll and commission paperwork. Daily complete and file reminder cards for each pet groomed. Daily review of all grooming associates paperwork to ensure that proper commissions are taken on each pet Order grooming salon supplies as needed Meet grooming revenue projections, control payroll and expenses to meet budget, maintain daily/ weekly records, schedule customer grooming appointments, assist in preparation of bi-weekly work schedule Perform routine housekeeping to maintain the appearance of the Grooming Salon to PETCO standards Ensure Grooming Salon safety by implementing standards and procedures as set by PETCO Provide and maintain personal clippers, blades, and other hand tools required for grooming services Assist Store Manager in recruiting and hiring of Pet Stylists and Grooming Assistants Provide orientation and training to all new Pet Stylists and Grooming Assistants Education and Experience: A qualified candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the grooming industry, and have at least three year's experience in grooming all breeds. A high school diploma or its equivalent (GED) is preferred. Additionally, the candidate should have the ability to monitor and provide direction to all Grooming associates, and be able to move animals and merchandise up to 50 pounds. Previous supervisory experience and prior retail experience are preferred.
