Group Accountant for FTSE 250 Publishing Company
My client is looking to recruit an outstanding accountant into a pivotal Group Finance Manager role. This is a unique opportunity offering high level exposure, development and progression within a high performing finance team.
They are a privately owned and profitable, international hospitality business currently experiencing growth and change involving senior leadership changes, re-branding, restructure and extensive development of the finance function. They are looking to build the best finance team in the industry through attracting in top talent. The business has projected growth through increased market share and international acquisitions, and will be looking to list in the UK within the next two years. This is an interim need, initially for a period of 3 months, but with the potential for extension.
The Group Finance Manager will support the Group FC and CFO to run the finance team with the main objective of transforming the Group Finance function to deliver the highest standards of public company accounting and reporting. The Group FC will lead and develop a team of three management accountants to ensure that they deliver at the highest standards. They will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders and will therefore possess the necessary gravitas to influence and build relationships at all levels. This is a strategic position that will also require a hands-on presence to ensure the teams smooth delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate will be a very high calibre qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with industry experience of working in a Group role within a complex business (ideally PLC) environment. You will have experience in driving a monthly, quarterly and year end close activity to tight deadlines, have produced statutory accounts for multiple entities under IFRS and UK GAAP. Strong IT Skills are highly desired, including advanced MS Excel and experience of having used SAP.
