Group Compliance Director recruitment
Working with colleagues within Group and business unit Compliance functions to create and maintain an environment in which senior management and the various businesses are able to comply with their obligations under the various Financial Services regulatory requirements and voluntary codes for which the Head of Compliance is accountable.
The role holder will:
- Be an ambassador for Regulatory Compliance at a Group level and member of the Compliance senior management team.
- Be responsible for leading the Compliance relationship with the Retail business unit Compliance functions.
- Work with the Retail business unit Compliance functions to deliver 'fit for purpose' compliance risk management processes to mitigate Regulatory Compliance risk.
Requirements:
- Broad knowledge of Financial Markets and expertise in Retail Banking product areas and financial services.
- Thorough knowledge of the UK regulatory requirements and EU directives and some experience internationally.
- High level of understanding of all operating areas of the business and an understanding and 'feel' for business generally. Also, both commercial and technical in outlook.
- Able to demonstrate gravitas through relevant regulatory experience.
- Track record of delivering effective compliance risk management at a senior/board level within a major global financial services organisation.
- Demonstrable capability of dealing with regulators at senior level.
- Experience of building processes and managing regulatory risk within a Sarbanes-Oxley and Basel II environment.
- Relevant postgraduate degree and/or equivalent professional qualification.
- Demonstrable experience of dealing with material regulatory risks and issues in a comparable organisation.
