The Corporate Pharmacy Department has an opening for a Group Director, Pharmacy Operations. This position is located in Pleasanton, CA. Position Purpose: Responsible for assisting and leading Corporate Pharmacy Personnel in planning and achieving business objectives. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ? Oversee and direct U.S. Pharmacy Operations. ? Manage and direct applicable retail pharmacy operating budgets. ? Analyze current effectiveness of work processes, labor management and profitability. ? Strategize, develop and implement key pharmacy operations strategies to improve profitability, gain efficiencies, and improve work processes. ? Provide store operations functional experience, guidance, and leadership to Division Pharmacy Operations staff. ? Analyze divisional, regional and store pharmacy P L statements with focus on sales and growth and opportunities to improve cost management and business unit profitability. ? Confront complex pharmacy operational issues with situation specific business solutions. ? Apply strategic planning to timely decision making processes for positive impact on retail pharmacy operating results. ? Develop and manage retail pharmacy operations staff to ensure timely success is achieved on pharmacy operational projects. ? Assist Corporate Pharmacy Personnel in planning and achieving business objectives. ? Up to 50% travel ? visits to retail divisions. Qualifications: ? Degree in Pharmacy required (B.S. or Pharm. D.). ? Minimum of 10 years of retail pharmacy operations management experience. ? 2 + years experience in a mid-level or senior management level role in pharmacy. ? Experience in financial planning and analysis of pharmacy operating results with the ability to use relevant data to drive positive decision making. ? Experience applying change management practices as advocate for positive change outcomes. ? Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing large numbers of employees. ? In-depth knowledge of Pharmacy Operations. ? Knowledge of Pharmacy professional and regulatory practice. ? Knowledge of state, federal, and company policies and procedures. ? Knowledge of Safeway Pharmacy operations, including inventory control, third party programs generic usage. ? Financial reports and their use. ? Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. ? Interpersonal skills including building relationships and conflict resolution. This involves the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with peers, management and other departments. ? Drive for results, including demonstrating energy and enthusiasm for new ideas and practices and an orientation toward accomplishment and achievement. This involves the ability to direct self and/or employees toward accomplishment of objectives and to persist in the face of challenges and obstacles to achieve goals and objectives. ? This involves the ability to identify requirements of internal and external customers, focus on achieving optimal results, and develop solutions that positively affect customer satisfaction. This also involves demonstrating good customer service to all. ? Ability to accurately access, input and retrieve information from a computer. ? Reading skills, including the ability to accurately read and interpret prescriptions. ? Listening skills, including the ability to effectively understand customers and their inquiries. ? Written communication skills, including the ability to write in a clear and concise manner to peers, managers, and customers. ? Ability to work different schedules to meet store and customer needs. ? Ability to follow all applicable Safeway Pharmacy guidelines. ? Stress tolerance and adaptability, including the ability to work productively when faced with stressful situations and to maintain effective interactions with other under stressful conditions. This also involves the ability to be open to change, to be tolerant to diversity. ? Ability to develop an understanding of the merchandising and selling of pharmacy related items. ?
