Group Finance Director recruitment

The job responsibilities include achieving long-term and short-term objectives; ensuring that financial resources are effectively utilised to realise these pre-defined targets.The duties will encompass managing the company’s financial affairs, whilst directing and facilitating the preparation and consolidation of the annual long-term capital, operating and revenue budgets. This will extend to business planning, implementation of corporate policies and systems procedures, whilst also managing all the funding requirements for the company's activities, projects and joint ventures in compliance with group risk management guidelines.

In this role you will:

• Ensure that there are appropriate processes and systems in place to monitor and report on actual financial performance of company projects against approved budgets. This is to ensure that proposed and approved projects are delivering both the required and expected financial returns to the company.

• Establish guidelines for budgets; prepare and review financial forecasts involving the feasibility of certain projects and issue necessary recommendations.

• Coordinate the financial planning and budget process, as well as analyse and correct estimates.

• Direct the preparation of the annual budget of the company and the consolidated budget of the group in consultation with the CEO and the Head of Treasury department and the board committee.

• Define the corporate finance strategy in line with the company’s overall strategy. In doing so, ensure that the finance function is positioned as a key support to the business.

• Set long and medium term objectives for the Divisions and build resources to realise the company's and Division's objectives.

• Plan and implement appropriate shifts in strategy for fund-raising from time to time in line with the company’s growth and business progress.

• Direct the development and implementation of the finance, accounting and reporting policies, systems and procedures.

• Put the company's financial policies into effect and implement controls on all financial transactions to discount risk and prevent potential losses.

• Ensure that there is an appropriate internal control framework in place within the company to effectively manage key business risks and safeguard the company’s assets.

• Ensure that the company operates in an environment of strong corporate governance and that it ensures timely and effective compliance.

Our client will look to recruit a fully qualified and chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA), whom has an exposure to working with a multi-layered organisation. With the growth coming from their hospitality entities; the client is specifically interested in recruiting someone with an exposure to the hospitality, food and beverage sectors; whereby their skills and exposures are transferable into this emerging area of their operation.
