Group Finance Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a strong finance leader to join a prestigious London university as Group Finance Manager. This is a high profile position where the job will require an exceptional leader to support the Finance Director in managing Divisional Finance Managers and collating their information to report at Board Level.

The role will report into the Group Finance Director/Group Financial Controller for the University and will work closely with the divisional Finance Managers. The ability to communicate complex financial ideas to non-finance personnel is key due to the information being reported on and to who it will be communicated to. Day to day duties will include reviewing the work undertaken in subsidiary accounts for bank reconciliations, raising on-line bank payments, closing purchase and sales ledgers, entering of sales and purchase invoices, the completion of VAT returns, recharges between entities, processing credit card statements, completing necessary control account checks and month end tests, checking inter-company balances and making bank transfers, preparing Group reports in UK GAAP, IFRS and other ad hoc reports as required for due diligence purposes, being responsible for month end and year end process, including preparation of monthly management account packs and year end audit file, group consolidation and checks for accuracy and completeness of data, and joining the project team that is implementing a new ERP.

Managing 6 finance managers, the right candidate will be able to demonstrate sound financial leadership and lead by example in areas of technical accounting. The right person will be a Qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant, a strong communicator, intelligent, commercially minded and will not shy away from tasks presented to them. Due to projects being worked on, the successful candidate will also be technically strong in areas of IT systems.
