Group Financial Controller - Asset Management
Our Client is a leading European property asset management firm, that is looking for a new Group Financial Controller. The role reports to the Group FD and has 3 reports. The successful candidate will have extensive experience within Financial Service and must have experience of producing consolidated accounts.
Responsibilities;
Management Information Statutory Reporting
- Manage the process for preparing the monthly group consolidated management
- accounts, review, challenge and prepare appropriate commentary for Board consideration
- Review branch and subsidiary reporting and monitor activity (cash flow, monthly spend trend, currency movements, inter-company balances)
- Monitor and sign off on key indicator measures
- Control and manage group cash-flow
- Payment authorisation
- Review department processes and ensure these are efficient and using appropriate technology
- Manage the annual production of financial statements, Directors' report and notes
- Manage the annual statutory audit process
- Monitor business investment transactions
Employee / partnership expense management
- Communicate payroll changes (in conjunction with an HR representative)
- Manage payroll, partnership drawing and third party payments across the group
- Review monthly payroll (prepared by external payroll agents) and partnership drawings, record and post entries as appropriate
- Coordinate and manage annual Corporation Tax and partnership tax processes
Team management
- Manage the Corporate Accounting team (comprised of 2 Corporate Accountants
- and a Corporate Administrator)
- Coordinate the annual performance assessment exercise for the Corporate Accounting team
Business valuation and management of share-based transactions
- Manage the annual business valuation process (determines the share price)
- Manage the transactions and accounting treatment for share based schemes
- Liaise with administrators of the share based schemes and review reporting
Projects:
- Develop VAT process which can recover VAT on appropriate employee expenses
- Develop a shareholder information sheet (to keep owners informed of annual business activity and results)
Education and Professional Qualifications:
- ACA or ACCA professional with 3 + years PQE
Essential Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of UK GAAP
- Strong MS Excel knowledge
- Consolidate accounting
