Group Financial Modelling Manager

This Financial Modelling Manager's job in Edinburgh with a rapidly expanding business will appeal to finance professionals with a proven ability to utilise/develop/enhance financial models for commercial decision making purposes.  Reporting to the Head of Decision Support, the Financial Modelling Manager will be expected to:

•Be proactive in the provision of insightful value added expert services, including senior level advice across budgeting, forecasting investment appraisals
• Deliver accurate and timely elements of management reporting (including Management Accounts, Operating Plan, Rolling Forecasts, Revised Annual Forecasts and Business plan updates) for approval by senior management.
• Responsible for planning co-ordinating all key finance processes (budgets, forecast)
• Owning and managing the models which support scenario planning and shaping of forecasts.
• Supporting the development of new management information, ensuring that all relevant data is captured and reported in an accurate, robust and cost-efficient manner.
• Working closely with other team members, and providing support to the Finance Leadership team to deliver results and recommending ways to improve performance and effectiveness.
• Effectively handling questions from internal management in relation to management accounting reports and processes.

In order to be successful, you should be able to demonstrate the following skill-set:

• Experience in a similar modelling role within retail banking
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including financial modelling techniques
• Proven ability to develop, operate and control complex financial models
• The ability to translate complex modelling output into simple analysis for presentation to senior stakeholders
• The ability to handle complex data
• Commercial focus
• The ability to negotiate and influence at a senior level.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
