Group Head of Compliance
Manchester City Centre
Circa £70,000 per annum

Currently undergoing exciting growth plans for 2012 there has never been a better time to join The Paymex Group who are now seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Compliance Manager with a strong background in consumer lending and related financial services.
The successful candidate will manage all compliance, risk and regulatory functions across the group, ensuring that both companies and employees comply with all regulatory requirements and agreed business practices.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the compliance function on a day to day basis for the group
- Lead the team in the delivery of a first class service which sets Paymex apart as a market leader
- Translate business strategy into operational goals for the team
- Provide advice and guidance on all regulatory requirements and guidelines that govern the business activities (e.g. DPA, OFT, Money Laundering and/or FSA)
- Give, where appropriate, commercially viable solutions to compliance and risk related issues
- Develop policies and procedures that satisfy the legal and regulatory standards and requirements that apply to the business and develop an ongoing compliance monitoring programme
· Maintain an up to date knowledge of any regulatory changes and manage any communication/training of these changes where applicable. Identify specific regulatory training needs and set up sessions to address
- Liaise with internal audit and conduct regular internal audits on systems and processes employed and the employees working to them to ensure the company is operating legitimately within the regulations
- Review and maintain all Compliance Manuals and policy documents as appropriate, instigating version controls
- Investigate customer complaints concerning suspected breaches of regulation or likely to lead to referral to regulatory bodies, and instigate a complaints handling procedure as appropriate
- Act as the MLRO and put in place such policies, practices and procedures necessary to ensure all obligations regarding Money Laundering regulations are adhered to
- Maintain regulatory permissions across all relevant businesses
- Apply and drive ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ (TCF) principles
- Manage own performance and personal development
- Additional duties may be assigned or existing duties may alter as the role evolves
Key skills and experience:
- Experience at a managerial level in a compliance department within a regulated environment (typically FSA/OFT), in particular within consumer lending
- Positive leadership style, able to build credibility at all levels, internally and externally
- Lead and embrace change and improvement
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to deal with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Able to influence Board Directors and other stakeholders to deliver shared objectives
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to deadline, using own initiative
- Able to demonstrate resilience and flexibility in a demanding and fast paced environment
