Group Head of Records and Information Governance recruitment

Records and Information Governance (hereafter referred to as 'RIG') Management is part of the greater Group Knowledge Management function. It is remit is to set governance and policy for information management, taking into consideration business priorities, regulatory controls, legal and compliance positions, and operational and technology limitations. Included in such governance are the likes of record retention schedules, and guidance on information transformation into value-added business knowledge.

The Role:


This is a highly visible Group level role that works with senior stakeholders globally. In this role you will manage a global team of RIG specialists and senior managers, and will be guided by the Global Head of Knowledge Management. You will have the authority to drive results using a global network of records managers and data officers in all locations and lines of business, and is expected to influence and obtain sponsorship from COOs and CRAOs when running the global and regional information governance program. You will also manage an executive Records and Information Governance Board consisting of 7-10 Group General Managers/Global Heads, to provide oversight and advocacy to the RIG initiatives.

The main responsibility is for the establishment and delivery of a Group-wide RIG Program, to ensure that statutory and regulatory requirements are fulfilled across all countries and Global Businesses and Functions. This RIG Programme shall encompass the existing Global Records Management Program and work in closely - and where necessary encompass - the new evolving Group Data Strategy. You will have to provide strategic leadership, collaborative coordination and policy authority at Group level to achieve business-critical reforms and advances in records and information governance. You will also have to ensure that the Group develops and maintains an up-to-date Policy Set that is fit for purpose and in compliance with known regulatory, legislative and operational requirements. The underlying objective is to protect the Global Businesses by driving greater awareness of records and data risks in the business lines; and develop strategies to reduce those risks.

The Requirements:

To succeed in such a role you must have a proven track record in Records and Information Governance, having built a strong track record in either the banking, consulting, regulatory/governmental, or education industries. Just as important, is the ability to manage and lead global teams, and to manage senior stakeholders across different countries and business lines.
