Group Investment Accountant

Responsibilities:

INVESTMENT ACCOUNTING
• To deliver accurate and timely ledger entries in respect of the Group’s investments and their performance.
• To ensure correct accounting and tax treatments are applied
• To maintain and operate the control framework over investment accounting.

INVESTMENT REPORTING
• To own, manage and develop the internal investment data centre ensuring the integrity of its inputs and outputs.
• To produce timely and accurate investment reporting packs.
• To take overall responsibility for co-ordinating the completion and distribution of the monthly Investment pack
• To develop the reporting pack (in conjunction with the Investment Department)
• To own the investment section in Group management information pack.
• To prepare complete and accurate investment analysis to satisfy their requirements within the required timescales (eg for statutory and regulatory reporting purposes, Tax Department requirements etc)
• To produce investment reports in agreed formats for overseas offices.
• To maintain and operate the control framework over investment reporting.

GENERAL
• To ensure investment portfolio is compliant with all regulatory reporting requirements.
• To maintain an up to date working knowledge of investing practices and regulations.
• Involvement in Finance Department and Group ad hoc projects as required
• To maintain procedures manuals for your areas of responsibility.
• Staff management responsibilities – one qualified direct report
• To discharge your duties in respect of Financial Controls for your areas of responsibility

Person Profile:
• Highly driven and ambitious self starter.
• ACA (or equivalent) with an excellent understanding investment products and accounting
• Advanced excel and powerpoint. Experience and knowledge of general ledger systems
• To be confident in dealing with senior executives and Management.
• Excellent communication and presentational skills.
• Strong leadership capability
