The mission of the Alliance Management department is to optimize the value of commercial alliances through exercising and enforcing our rights under the existing distribution agreements (DAs), ensuring compliance of all responsibilities while continuing to evaluate and seek opportunities to enhance all DAs.

The Group Product Director, Alliance Management position will be charged in leading the day to day commercial businesses in specified alliances within NA Pharma. Dependant on the size of the business, this candidate may be responsible for multiple alliances.
Day to day business activities with alliance partners include:Influence and challenge day to day business activities, to optimize the asset. Ensure optimal investments. Steward global alignment. Anticipate and resolve issues and conflicts arising out of changing priorities and unpredictable events. Participate, where appropriate, in alliances' business and strategic planning. Work with brand and clinical / medical affair teams to identify strategic business issues during a products commercial life. Issues may include: arranging terms for novel development programs, working out supply arrangements, or managing intellectual property issues. As part of the Alliance Management team, propose and implement workable solutions that achieve desired development and business goals. Facilitate resolution of ongoing business issues relating to our partner companies. Arrange periodic meetings with major partners and stakeholders to facilitate the exchange of information.

Internal stakeholder value creation strategies: In coordination with Business Analytics, identifying and executing appropriate market research to gain further insights into the businesses. Thoroughly analyze and model alternative approaches to resolve strategic/business issues. Incumbent will have a key role in strategic and business planning process. Provide commercial/ business input and insights to product and market forecasts, with a working knowledge of financial models. Incumbent will also have clear communication to internal stakeholders and senior management regarding ongoing business issues relating to our partner companies.

Travel (both international and domestic): Meetings with alliance partners including both informal and formal agendas. Face to face meetings regarding day to day business of the alliance. Formal governance meetings. Joint meetings with key stakeholders. International and domestic congresses. Internal and partner company meetings.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree in related field such as business, marketing or sciences required. M.B.A. is desirable. A minimum of 8+ years of experience in marketing or sales is required. Experience within the pharmaceutical industry, immunology, and/or biologics is preferred. Cross-functional and global experience is desired. Experience within a regulatory environment is required. Experience or familiarity in the following areas is preferred: brand / strategic marketing, business development and/or licensing, co-promotions, strategic alliances, business analytics, drug development process. Excellent negotiation and networking skills and demonstrated problem solving ability are required.

Candidates must be strongly versed in the commercial, scientific and regulatory issues involved in making strategic decisions in the industry. Candidates should be comfortable reading and interpreting legal contracts. Proven track record of working closely with senior leaders in marketing, brand teams, RD, supply chain, finance and legal required. Cross functional facilitation skills required. Excellent communication within and across multiple functional areas and levels is required. Strong financial, strategic and business acumen required. Demonstrated ability in building and leading strong, high performing multidimensional teams, with a proven record in mobilizing and motivating is required. This position requires up to 15% domestic/international travel.
