PURPOSE OF FUNCTION
The Umicore Group aims for a reliable and sustainable tax reporting. In this function you will prepare, review and manage the Group Corporate Income Tax charge reporting process, and communication, to comply with IFRS and Group management requirements. You will also offer technical corporate tax advices and participate in tax group projects.
FUNCTION
- You prepare and review the Group tax reporting (IAS 12) and drive the monthly tax accounting process, including analysis and review of the effective tax rate evolution.
- You investigate any material differences and prepare the monthly consolidated tax report (IFRS compliant) for the Group management.
- You initiate and drive the improvement of the tax reporting processes and participate in the tax forecasting process. You review and analyse the corporate income tax charges of the main subsidiaries.
- You manage and review the computation and accounting of deferred taxes in collaboration with the consolidation department, and prepare the annual report tax notes.
- You are the primary contact for Umicore on tax accounting and reporting matters towards external auditing firms.
- You write and review tax accounting/reporting procedures and deferred tax calculation and provide training to the subsidiaries.
- You participate in the tax projects, providing technical guidance on tax accounting for business acquisitions, dispositions and other restructuring activities.
- You keep up-to-date on international tax regulations, and IAS regulation for tax.
PROFILE
- You have a master degree in economics or finance and a postgraduate in taxation. You have relevant experience in an international tax accounting environment.
- You have excellent working knowledge of IAS 12.
- You are fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch or/and French is a plus.
- You have strong analytical skills, an excellent sense of figures and a good synthesis capacity.
- You are a good communicator, able to work and co-operate with colleagues from different nationalities, cultures and professional backgrounds.
- You are well organized, pro-active, result driven and service minded.
