The group trades a diverse range of Exchange, OTC products and physical commodities. These include Base Metals, Precious Metals, Iron Ores, Energy products ranging from Natural Gas and Power to Oil and Coal.
We are active participants in the full range of physical financial trades The business has key trading hubs across the globe, including London, New York, Houston and Singapore.
Commodities business is supported by the Global Business Services (GBS) for processing, including position control, risk/ PL production, documentation, settlements, cash reconciliation, collateral, transaction accounting and reporting. Key GBS processing hubs are Houston, New York, London, Singapore and Frankfurt.
Responsibilities
The candidate will join the Commodities Operations in Singapore to support the physical commodities business in APAC. The products include all base metals, coal and iron ore. The tasks include:
• Contract Execution / Delivery (ie Laycan, Nomination's, container bookings)
• Deal with / manage Quality / Other Delivery Issues
• Warehouse receipts management
• Final and conditional warehouses releases
• BLs approval and endorsement
• BL and docs instructions
• Physical Metal Swaps executions
• Finalising weights
• Final and provisional invoices requests and approvals
• Invoices adjustment (weight variations, weighing difference, etc)
• Warrants versus physical maintenance, warrants cancellation overview
• Booking slots for warrants out
• Recaps checking on T0
• RMS updating on T0 with correct tonnage
• Brady updates per movement daily and balances
• Brady transit trades maintenance
• Organise inspection, follow ups
• LC admin on Metals (documentary and Standby)
• LC Review
• Provide insurance details of any new trades where insurance need to be altered or extra insurance required
• Check vessel suitability and verify with insurance
• New warehouses approval
• New products approval (e/g/ non-deliverable metals)
• PI insurance reporting
• Customer insurance docs management
• Assist sales in Preparation / Review of Non Standard Contract's (expertise required)
• Advice with FO on suitable terms for contracts
• Review and sign off of Confirmation's
Requirements
• Degree holder with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in physical commodities operations and with operational support in coal, iron ore and oil industry.
• Sound understanding of Letters of Credits,Incoterms and physical delivery terms
• Extensive experience in shipping, cargo surveying, customs matters, demurrage handling
• Good knowledge on documentation, eg contracts, invoices
• Good knowledge of regulatory environments in APAC countries
• High calibre individual with lots of initiatives
• Ability to multi task and prioritize in high pressure environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Confident and team player
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Mandarin speaker preferred
