Position overview:

The Functional Specialist analyses the business requirements received from Business Analysts and is responsible for translating them into Functional Specifications and other deliverables required enable solution construction. The Functional Specialist creates and modifies business facing documentation including user manuals and solution briefs.

The sub-ledger platform – IDMS – has been rolled out in 14 countries and 35 locations and across various business lines primarily GTB. Effective Continues Improvement (CI) of platform is essential to both the business currently using IDMS and db-Coral in future. This role focus on formulating functional requirement specification from business requirements and acts as the contacts for business solution and solution providers for all aspects of agreed requirements / solutions.

Job responsibilities:

• Complete and elaborate technical software design (high level design) in accordance with solution designed by solution architect and documentation of the same.
• Prepare solution / functional requirement specifications, working closely with Business Analysts, Delivery manager, Application Owners / Solution Architects in solution requirement solution maintenance areas.
• Communicate the proposed requirement specifications with all stakeholders including interface partners GTP to deliver the requirements effectively till the implementation phase within the agreed timeliness cost.
• Analyze business requirements received from Business Solution including technical project (Technology Roadmap compliant) requirement for functional impacts.
• Analyze technical project requirements documents received from Application Management, for functional impacts.
• Support testing on behalf users, operations and testing teams including reviewing test plan, test cases and test scenarios and when required support testing with interface partners.
• Creates and modifies business-facing documentation (e.g. user manuals, solution briefs, functional summaries).
• Working alongside CTB project deliveries including the appointed vendor, to ensure a smooth transition into BAU support model after project go-Lives.
• Maintaining a good relationship with the key business representatives identified for each enhancement / project.
• Where applicable provide other relevant support as required by delivery manager like financial forecasting, financial allocation key computations and source code review.
• Working closely with developers to resolve functional issues from User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in formulating solutions to various functional / technical issues.
• Support Application management area (Application Owner and L3 team) for functional area trouble shooting and resolution to reported bugs on the application.
• Coordinate with all stakeholders (interface partners, GTP, GT-BS, etc) to ensure the changes are verified after deployment in production.
• Oversight of functions performed offshore, and managing day to day delivery issues by offshore delivery team.
• Quality check of requirement specifications, high/low level design, test plan eg. test cases test scenarios and source code review performed by offshore delivery team.

Candidate requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience in software development project especially working experience with business requirement and detailing the solution into functional System Requirement Specifications.
• Proven track record in delivery of functional technical solution / requirements
• Strong Analytical skills and organized with strong awareness of risk controls
• Good written / spoken communication skills in English
• Good interpersonal and problem solving skills
• Basic accounting knowledge or sub ledgers and how they operate
• Strong Demand Deposit Account (DDA) Payment product knowledge
• Ability to learn and adapt to complex state of the art of DDA processing system
• Used to working to tight deadlines and flagging potential problems at an early stage
• Proficient in basic level understanding of technical aspects including Cobol, MS Excel, Unix Operating System, middleware eg. MQ Websphere, Oracle and Java
• Graduate degree from accredited college or university with a concentration in computer science, or Business, Finance (or equivalent computer diploma and/ or relevant work experience)
