Overview

Within Deutsche Bank’s Global Technology organisation, the Production department is responsible for the deployment and operation of world class infrastructure across Server, Storage and Database platforms, Voice Data Networks, and Data Centres. It is the responsibility of Global Technology Production to provide advanced, resilient and scalable solutions for Deutsche Bank’s ever-growing business demands.

The Data Networks team provides advanced operational and deployment support for traditional networking and firewall platforms throughout Australia/New Zealand, and works in conjunction with regional operational teams and global engineering groups.

Key Responsibilities

This position is for a senior member of the team, to act as Second-In-Charge to the Data Networks Manager. Key responsibilities include:

· Perform operational support duties for the existing infrastructure as well as contributing in the deployment of new technologies and expanding the current infrastructure.

· Work with key stakeholders to identify requirements and align solutions with defined and emerging DB technology standards, as well as representing the team in meetings with local and global IT teams, and clients stakeholders within the business.

· The position also includes tasks such as documentation and performing presentations, and select managerial tasks such as mentoring coaching as well as contributing the fulfilment of various governance processes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

· 4+ years of Cisco Routing and Switching experience

· 2+ years Checkpoint Firewall-1 or Juniper Netscreen experience

· Experience with operation or administration of UNIX/Linux operating systems

· Deep knowledge of TCP/IP and the OSI Model

· Extensive knowledge of protocols such as OSPF, BGP, Spanning Tree, Flexlink, DNS and NTP

· Knowledge of Quality of Service mechanisms

Experience in the following technologies would be highly desirable:

· Low latency networking

· DWDM, CWDM and other carrier services

· HTTP SOCKS Proxy

· VPN and other security based protocols platforms

· Wireless

· Voice/Video over IP

· Network Management Systems, such as SNMP, CiscoWorks, SMARTS, etc.

· Network-based application troubleshooting

· CCNP or better Cisco certification

· Checkpoint, Juniper, ADVA, Arista or other similar certification strongly considered

· ITIL certification highly desirable

You will be:

· Able to follow defined workflows processes, but also the ability to think laterally and “outside of the box” when situations warrant

· Able to demonstrate high attention to detail, excellent troubleshooting skills and excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentations public speaking

· Experienced with Change Management, Outage Management and Release Management methodologies (or ITIL certification)

· Able to demonstrate key project management skills

· Proven ability to deliver precise task objectives

· Autodidactic

· Highly responsible and able to work with minimal supervision

· Ability to mentor and coach others

· Experienced in the financial industry or ASX200 companies highly desirable

· Able to perform tasks outside of normal working hours and attend night time conference calls

· Able to adapt to changes to the DB enterprise take place on Saturdays under most circumstances

· Some interstate and international travel may be required
