Position overview:
The Solution Architect has continuous responsibility for the IT architecture and design definition and architecture documentation of an application or service or a set thereof including incorporation of software changes or enhancements. In practice, Solution Architects work in the details of the applications, services, IT products, and/or technologies and can filter to the right/higher level of detail when engaging Enterprise/Domain Architects. The focus of the Solution Architect is on application technology solutions.

Job responsibilities:
- Responsible for the IT architecture, the design definition and the architecture documentation of an application or service including software changes or enhancements .
- Engages in projects affecting the applications or service under their responsibility in order to
- Determine and confirm technical and application related aspects of solution
- Architecture and design, considering specific business constraints, requirements and dependencies.
- Determine and agree a software solution in accordance to the domain and enterprise architecture blueprint and with regard to the long-term application portfolio strategy including total cost of application.
- Contribute to and/or review high-level and low-level design documentation and approve.
- Measure the quality of the developed solution from an architecture perspective and ensure the conformance of delivered software with predefined quality metrics.
- As part of Solution Architect role, ensures alignment to Enterprise and Domain Architecture standards and processes and ensure usage of Enterprise and Domain Architecture assets, where possible.
- Contribute technical and application related aspects to the overall Enterprise and Domain Architecture blueprints
- Responsible for all technical and application related aspects of solution architecture (i.e. maintainability, scalability, effective integration with other solutions, usage of shared solutions and components where possible, optimization of the resource consumption) with the objective to drive the appropriate balance between business needs and total cost of ownership.
- Responsible for discovering, promoting and executing SOA solutions and reusable software components/functions.
Candidate requirements:
- Overall 5-10 years experience in IT delivery and architecture, of which at least 3-5 years as an Architect and 3-5 years in IT Delivery as technical project manager
- At least 5 years experience in business analysis, IT planning and design with a cohesive vision of the key business challenges of which major focus in the same business area and also in the same domain
- Proven ability to upwardly influence the strategic direction of IT solutions
- Ability to work in fast paced environments with competing and alternating priorities, with a constant focus on delivery
- Proven ability to balance business demands and IT fulfillment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility
- Experience in trade finance/billing domain a plus
