Position Overview
The Risk and PL teams are responsible for producing T1 daily profit-and-loss and risk reports for their respective trading desk. They ensure that figures are validated based on existing controls and the PL is properly explained/substantiated. Any manual adjustments posted are feed through to the relevant Transaction Accounting team as part of their daily/monthly reconciliation processes
Trading Risk PL roles have the following common characteristics:
- Produce daily profit and loss for the business unit/trading center
- Provide necessary transparency of controls done either for quality assurance or for final validation and control performance
- Obtain necessary sign-off from Front-Office (Traders) of the reported PL
- Participate in CTB initiatives of the team as well as domain-wide
- Liaise with different support teams for escalation and remediation of daily issues encountered
- Work with GBS Transaction Services, Transaction Accounting and Business Control to understand/complete trade-to-book process of a transaction
- Work with different stakeholders to improve existing processes and outputs
Responsibilities
- The role is business aligned and will entail multiple sub product businesses
- Responsible for the oversight and management of the generation of the daily independent Risk and PL in a timely manner, ensuring daily reconciliation and position reports as required.
- Reviews any exceptions raised in reports by the team and/or escalated by the supervisor
- As the key point of contact for traders and hubbed GBS, ensures all queries and/or breaches to SLA's are rectified on a timely basis
- Facilitates business growth and reorganisation. Involvement with the NPA process, making changes to reporting process as required.
- Work to ensure process standardisation across global product reporting, applied to both workflow practice and work tools that are used. Ensures a robust and scalable production process.
Requirements
- At least 3-6 years of relevant experience in Product Control or related space
- For T+1 role, a Business or Accountancy based degree, with Flash role having a more Mathematical / Engineering / IT focused degree. For bothfurther relevant studies and/or a Masters is an advantage
- Good cultural awareness and able to manage stakeholders across locations
- Good stakeholder management skills
- Good people management skills in terms of team development and retention
- Good communication skills, fluent in English (written/verbal)
- Good team worker, able to work in virtual global teams and in a matrix organisation
- Open minded, able to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members
- Flexibility regarding problem solving
- Keeps pace with technical innovation and market driven initiatives and maintains a broad understanding of the GBS offering
- Degree level /or relevant practical experience
