Position Responsibilities

The New Business Strategy Manager will lead the analysis and development of the business direction for Verizon and identify key growth strategies, develop associated business cases, and team with the Business Units to execute options and plans globally.  These new initiatives will leverage Verizon assets and span B2B, B2C, and B2B2C opportunities.

The New Business Strategy Manager will be responsible for the following key deliverables:
• Mobile and Cloud knowledge; Understanding of developer community, toolkits and IT development methodologies; knowledge of VZ or networking, preferred.
• Initial Focus:
o Develop business strategy for APIs across VZ
o Prioritize API exposure
o Create requirements for consumption of APIs
o Define business models to monetize APIs
o Define requirements for implementation of API business models
o Work with the other teams the ensure alignment and leverage of APIs across the company
o Create and implement business and technical governance framework
o Cloud Gaming: Evaluate options to build, partner and/or acquire business and develop direct and indirect distribution channels
o Mobile PaaS: Develop a differentiated mobile PaaS offering that aligns to Verizon's overall PaaS strategy
o Drive point of view and participation for HTML5 and engagement with OEMs

The New Business Strategy Manager will work closely with the business units to identify the key growth strategies and implementation plans for B2B, B2C and B2B2C initiatives.  The New Business Strategy Manager will collaborate with the technical teams, product management and finance on technically oriented growth options and marketing teams to optimize the GTM plans.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all aspects of researching and developing Mobile Cloud Key Enabler and Foundational Solutions firm-level strategy and execution plans.
• Research, analyze and present information in support of technical requirements, market positions, strategic recommendations and financial results.
• Drive the development of senior executive level presentations by gathering information, creating presentation materials and ensuring consistency of message and high quality product.
• Partner with business units and external entities for integrated and differentiated solutions.
• Be comfortable driving change through the organization.
• Provide thought leadership internally and externally.

Required Skills Experience

- 7+ years work experience serving enterprise markets required with at least 5 years in high technology, preferably outsourcer/service provider/consultancy or software
- Consulting experience strongly preferred
- Financial and/or analytic experience highly desired
- Excellent written and verbal communications, including excellent PowerPoint skills
- High energy, strategic thinker with track record of executing
- Financial analysis ability and knowledge
- Industry knowledge of IT Services, cloud, internet and managed services
- Business strategy and go to market skills
- Analytic but with critical thinking ability
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science with advanced degree strongly preferred; combination of IT services or marketing and MBA education highly desired. Finance degree may be acceptable. Candidates who hold degrees will be given first consideration.
