RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Work closely with market access architecture teams and front office trading staff to implement and improve performance on low latency market making applications.

•  Manage technical projects including involvement from local and global application, infrastructure, governance, and client teams

•  Serve as a point of contact for coordination with IT globally on all technical topics, including strategic infrastructure/toolkit initiatives.

•  Work closely with clients, business analysts and team members to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions.

•  Validate design proposals for new solutions and coordinate technical reviews of existing systems.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required:

•  Expertise in equity markets external connectivity related to low latency trading.

•  Expertise in ‘state of the art’ data network technologies.

•  Active participation in industry wide user groups around data networking, market access and low latency infrastructure technologies.

•  Broad experience in various industry standard and Cisco data networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, VRF, MPLS/VPLS, Multicast, STP, QoS, ethernet and TCP/UDP/IP).

•  Full working knowledge of Cisco Catalyst 650n, ISR and ASR, Netscout, Niksun, Corvil or comparable network tool suites.

•  Working knowledge of various market and exchange feed and order passing protocols.

Desired:  Experience in the following:

•  Ciscoworks, Nexus and ACS platforms, 802.1x, and Blade Network Technology 10GE switches

•  Data Center relocation and or build out experience

•  Understanding of telco technologies such as DWDM, SONET and SDH

•  Cisco based wireless LAN systems (SWAN)

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

Required:

•  10+ years with the required technical experience listed above

•  Technical Lead/Architect for system initiatives within large scale international organization

•  Conducting/participating in product evaluations and performance testing

•  Experience in investment banking environment with focus on market access(5 years or more),

EDUCATION

Desired:   Master degree in Computer Science or related
