Under general supervision, safely and effectively operates traveling or stationary overhead crane (cab or ground controlled) to lift, move, and position loads, such as machinery, equipment, products using hoisting attachments, such as hook, sling, electromagnet, or bucket. Reads and interprets instructions, documentation and plans work activities. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required PPE. May inspect and lubricate cables, pulleys, guides and drums. Job role, properly performed, has minimal impact on the viability of the organization. Mentors junior crane operators and trainees. Skills are typically acquired high school or similar education and 2-4 years experience through previous crane operations experience and/or on- the-job training. Shell Rigger and National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) certification required. Must be proficient in wireline operations, frac stacks, sand knock outs/flow back, and coil tubing operations. Class A CDL (air brakes and combination) required. Must be able to work with no direct supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must read and write in English. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to pass background check, drug test. Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems Must be able to rig up and operate an Altec 38 ton, Terex 60 ton and Tadano 90 ton cranes unassisted.
