Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Design Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer to work in our Downhole tools group. Job Description Under general direction, participates in analysis, modification and design for multiple products and/or projects of greater complexity which requires proficiency in the application of standard materials and components. Investigates use of alternate materials. May lead projects or design teams. Develops test procedures, conducts tests and completes test result analysis for assigned projects. Advises and assists in handling field and manufacturing problems to maintain and improve products and services. Incorporates Reliability, HSE and Quality analysis techniques during the design process. Job tasks impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline, and 4 years of related experience. Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred. Job Roles: · Participates in analysis, modification and design for multiple projects and/or projects of greater complexity. · Conducts test and writes test procedures and analyzes test results for assigned projects. · Proficient in the application of standard materials and components. Investigates use of alternate materials. · Advises and assists in handling field and manufacturing problems to maintain and improve products and services. · Incorporates reliability, HSE and Quality analysis techniques during the design process. · Participates in planning and conducts project tasks as assigned. Includes some latitude for independent action. · Provides consultation and technology transfer to internal and external peers. Document technology transfer when appropriate. · Develops and applies company sanctioned standards and specifications. · Learns and utilizes project management skills in the organization and execution of project assignments as necessary Requirements · Completion of an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline · Possession of a PE License (optional) · Minimum of 4 years of experience · Design Engineering which includes experience in Mechanical Downhole and/or Mechanical Surface Equipment (optional)
