The Client is a leading high-tech engineering and manufacturing company doing business in southern New Hampshire.  They are the foremost supplier of tactical lights, lasers and night vision equipment supplied to US Special Operations Forces.  An expansion of business makes an outstanding opportunity for a HARDWARE DEVELOPER ELECTRICAL ENGINEER who will work in a cross discipline of engineers to bring projects form concept to production.  

 

The HARDWARE DEVELOPER ELECTRICAL ENGINEER will:

·         Develop digital magnetic compass and high precision inertial measurement systems

·         Develop analog/digital circuit boards including power conversion, front end sensor circuits.  ADC/DAC, microcontroller and FPGAs

·         Perform schematic entry using OrCAD

·         Perform design simulations using PSpice

·         Participate in peer design reviews

·         Support PWB designers to develop board designs

·         Coordinate and release design documentation

·         Provide post-design support and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, logic/spectrum analyzers and other test equipment

 

The HARDWARE DEVELOPER ELECTRICAL ENGINEER will have:

·         BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

·         10+ years of hardware development experience in aerospace, defense or medical products.

·         Direct experience with inertial measurement systems and MEMS Gyros, accelerometers, and magnetometers

·         Proficiency with OrCAD, PSpice, Cadence  Allegro or equivalent CAD/CAE tools

·         Experience in designing high reliability analog and digital electronics

·         Experience in designing high efficiency power conversion circuits for low power, battery operated systems

·         Familiarity with good EMI/EMC design practices

·         Experience with PWB layout, packaging, and test of low-noise, mixed-mode circuits for Electro/Optical application 

·         Strong design debugging and troubleshooting skills with hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, logic/spectrum analyzers and other test equipment

·         An understanding of mechanical, optical, software, and digital  design considerations and packaging tradeoffs

·         Experience with MatLab

·         Good written and oral communication skills

·         Southern NH/Northern MA residency (will be given preference)
