GENERAL SUMMARY
Working under general supervision and within established practices, provides technical assistance to the development of solutions to a variety of hardware engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity. Applies knowledge of company policies and standard practices to resolve problems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity; demonstrates self-initiative, seeks assistance when needed.
Uses tools appropriately with technical guidance and completes tasks and assignments under normal supervision.
Follows standard engineering practices; uses judgment within defined practices and procedures; implements work plans and schedules as assigned.
Understands and adheres to cost targets established during the program design phase.
Performs design and development engineering assignments related to hardware products and systems, including development of new products or updates to existing products. Ensures applicability of component design and conformity of products and disciplines to established standards and specifications.
Work may encompass one or more areas of engineering including mechanical systems, equipment and packages, electronic design, production techniques, product definition and planning, or other related fields.
Sphere of influence primarily limited to immediate work group.
