Hardware Engineer Job in Round Rock 78682, Texas US

This Information Assurance team will be supporting Federal law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) project initially.  FLETC is the pilot, developmental effort for the potential Marine Corps Hardware Support (MCHS) Contract.  This team will report to me as the Federal Configuration Services Manager. They will be working out of a restricted entry area and must adhere to strict protocols for handling and transferring data and accessing networks.  They will be creating databases, scanning and certifying that artifacts from various client computer systems are free of any known viruses, malware, etc.  Diags and HASHes will also be required as part of the process for MCHS.  The team will be culling suppliers of system components looking for updates to firmware, software, etc. and running the appropriate scanning software against those updates before certifying it and creating a package of updates to send to the customer within 10 days of the update release.  A high-level process has been developed, but this team will be tasked to refine the process and then recommend means for automating the process so it can scale for high volume contracts.  This information will also be stored in the database on the I-drive

 

The Junior position will perform mostly scanning and monitoring of said scans.  Once the database is created, they will upload information. 

 

MUST be a United States citizen.  No security clearance required

 

-              MUST have an in depth knowledge of malware, viruses, and other threats to

                computer security.

-              Understand how to use detection software to include Symantec, MacAfee,      

                Retina Scan, etc.

-              Experience creating update packages for users to securely launch updates to

                their drivers, firmware, BIOS, etc.

            Experience working with operating systems to include Windows XP, Vista, Win7, LINUX
