Hbc Enterprise – Project Manager
Role Mandate:
The Project Manager provides leadership and supervision to a group who is responsible for developing and implementing information technology initiatives that support the strategic objectives of the Corporation.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of projects that are under the oversight of PMO (Project Management Office), and evaluate business objectives that require new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
• Develops, clarifies and manages the scope of the project, defines contract deliverables and achieves targeted outcomes by creating information systems strategies with business users, define business objectives, and identify cost/benefit impact to the company of proposed projects.
• Provides supervision and direction to the PMO (Project Management Office), project coordinator, administrator, business analysis staff and team.
• Participates in departmental strategic and budgetary planning processes; prepares and administers work unit operating budget; provides recommendations on policies and goals desired; and implements new/revised programs according to established guidelines.
• Coordinates and actively participates in all stages of project development including research, design, programming, testing and implementation.
• Oversees various systems projects of significant magnitude in terms of complexity, cost, time-constraints, internal and external staffing, and equipment including software and hardware.
• Identifies needs and will allocate the appropriate resources to meet timely completion of specific project tasks.
• Acts as the key liaison across all functional areas, including business units, information technology and outside vendors.
• Establish and direct the policies and procedures for project management methodology and defining, testing, and installing the information technology initiatives based upon the user-defined business requirements.
Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree in Business Management, Computer Science or Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Requires 5-8 years of applicable business experience. (3+ years of work experience in project management desired and 2 years of work experience as a Business Analyst desired).
• PMI certification preferred.
Experience with retail systems
• Experience in the utilization of a structured project management methodology.
• 2+ years supervising staff in a project management or business analysis role.
