Business Introduction
- AML Ops – Transaction Surveillance is responsible for the operations of transaction surveillance, which consists of Transaction Monitoring as well as Payments and Trade Filtering.

Role Summary
- To manage and supervise the Transaction Surveillance unit in Group Services Asia, AML Operations.
- Provide and oversee trainings for the department to ensure that analysts are aware of the procedures and policies which the department needs to comply to.
- Work closely with Global and Regional teams on the effective management of AML processes.
- To support AML related projects and changes for APAC
- Work with Risk Services team to identify and where necessary, escalate significant issues and develop action plans to address these issues and follow-up to closure.
- Ensure sufficient resources to undertake the activities of the department, and work with resourcing teams on hiring of suitable candidates where required.
- Maintain a tight control over costs to operate within allocated budget.
- Any other tasks within the wider remit of AML Operations APAC.
- Travel requirements: Occasionally.
Experience
Required:
- 5-10 years of AML experience, either direct or as part of roles in payments or trade
- Leadership experience and experience in managing teams
- Experience in / with international payments
Desirable:
- Experience in back office Operations and/or Risk teams with good understanding of front office business knowledge.
Technical Knowledge
Required:
- Good Analytical / Investigative skills
- An Eye for detail with high accuracy of work.
- Sound knowledge of regulatory and sanctions requirements relating to AML, especially for Singapore, Malaysia and UK.
- Good knowledge of banking products
- Highly independent and ability to work under constant pressure.
- Resilient
Desirable:
- Knowledge of regulatory and sanctions requirements relating to AML for other APAC countries.
Qualifications
Required:
- Degree from university, preferably in Banking and Finance
- Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable:
- Certification / Degree in Accountancy or related fields.
- Fluency in additional language, in particular Bahasa Malayu, Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin
