THE ROLE
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer - Fixed Income, the incumbent will manage a team responsible for investing in Asian loans and other credit products in both the primary and secondary markets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Setting up the necessary facilities and infrastructure for managing and monitoring a portfolio(s) of Asian Loans. This will involve working with the legal, compliance and operations departments to establish standard operational procedures for handling the loan investment portfolios.
- Establishing a sound investment framework process for the loans portfolio which will result in strong portfolio performance over the medium to long term. The process should be clear, prudent and robust, the effectiveness of which is measured in stable loan performance, strength of returns and avoidance of default.
- Able to source for deal flows that will meet the criteria set out under the investment framework.
- Possess ability to conceptualize and develop saleable loan products for retail and institutional clients.
- Able to effectively motivate and develop a successful team.
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree required. MBA, CFA or other related professional qualifications would be an advantage.
- Over 10 years of experience in managing loans and/ or credits at regional or international financial institutions.
- Preference for professionals with significant experience in loan credit assessments and contacts in the regional and Singapore loans market. Such contacts should be helpful in loan sourcing and establishing collaborative relationships with external parties.
- Strong inter-personal and people management skills.
