The Kingsman office, based in Lausanne, Switzerland, is comprised of experienced and respected analysts and report writers. With analysts in London, Montreal, New Delhi and Sao Paulo, Kingsman works around the clock to deliver the most timely and comprehensive coverage for all its sugar and biofuels product offerings.

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, GRAINS HEAD ANALYST, LAUSANNE

This position has responsibility for producing fundamental market analysis in the grains and oilseeds sector. The position will work closely with the desk staff to promote the development of in-depth, data-driven content, including analytical commentaries and product offerings on market fundamentals such as demand-supply balances, tradeflows, futures and physical market trends. The objective is to build out the Ags Team in producing all deliverables of the group, namely higher-value content analysis and market coverage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Report production and market analysis (50%)
• Strong understanding of grains and oilseeds markets
• Superior writing skills and promotion of report production best practices and analytical processes

Market Customer Engagement (40%)
• Meet with market participants to understand trends and environmental factors that influence the overall market
• Act as advocate and ambassador of Platts Ags pricing, methodology and analytical content

Management of Grains and Oilseeds Analytics Desk (10%)
• Coordinate report production and analytical content with Platts pricing editors 

 
 

Qualifications
• Deep understanding of grains and oilseeds (or other agriculture commodities) markets and commodity trading workflows.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Excellent writing skills in English
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrate ability to work across a global landscape with excellent relationship building skills with customers
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, working under time pressure and to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Five to Ten (5-10) years' agrs commodities experience, preferably in grains and oilseeds
• Bachelors degree in economics, business, finance, or related field acceptable based on previous experience
• Master's degree in relevant discipline preferred
