Head – APAC Collateral Margining recruitment
Collateral Operations comprises of several functional streams including OTC/Repo Margining, Client Valuations, Dispute Resolution, Prime Brokerage Margining, and Control. The successful candidate will manage the Singapore Collateral Margining team reporting to the Singapore Head of Collateral Operations. Singapore is the largest APAC Collateral Operations team and regional hub for OTC Derivative Repo Margining, Client Valuations and Control.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Effective management of the day-to-day margining process for UBS’s collateralized OTC derivative and Repo trading activity to ensure that the firm's exposure to its clients and counterparties are properly managed in accordance with executed documentation
- Providing recommendations sign off of new collateral documentation or new products/structures
- Direct external client contact, and active interface with internal client areas such as Wealth Management, Credit Risk Control, Sales Trading, Documentation, Business Unit Control (BUC), and Operations
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the margining team and supervising the team, providing guidance and planning staff training
- Help to drive control initiatives within the processes and participate in regional/global control projects.
- Drive change initiatives through usage of six sigma tools and working closely with the global projects teams.
Our ideal candidates should have the following requisites:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience within Investment Banking Operations with supervisory responsibility and at least 2-3 years of Collateral Management and/or Client Valuations experience. Product knowledge across OTC Derivatives and Securitized products would be a distinct advantage
- Has good interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills with an ability to resolve complex problems, confidence to take initiative with clients and internal stakeholders
- Shows a strong track record of planning, development, and people management
- Has the ability to distill large volumes of information (e.g. new business proposals) and to quickly identify salient points, key risks and potential issues
- Strong control mindset and experience of implementing and driving control initiatives in the process.
