Established in 1990, our client is regarded as a welcoming restaurant with a rustic and Tuscany feel. They offer an extensive menu of affordable and delicious quality authentic Italian recipes and also a selection of traditional wood fired pizzas delivered to the table with exceptional friendly service.
 
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a full time Head Chef to join their company in Moorebank, NSW, with a starting salary of $65K with periodic reviews.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership, plan organise the preparation  cooking of food to the highest level; with the same amount of time supervising as cooking.
 
Reporting directly to the Owner / Manager, being reported to by the kitchen staff. Some of your duties will include:

  • Plan menus, work out food labour costs
  • Supervise daily weekly cleaning OHS checklists
  • Assess, review update the performance of the staff, kitchen equipment
  • Manage kitchen staff including selection of staff, rostering training upkeep
  • Attend to staff, customer club complaints concerning food

To be successful in this role you will have 1+ years as a Head Chef in a comparable restaurant/role, with a Food Safety Handling Certificate and be OHS trained.

Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure are also needed for this role. 

Hours include evenings and weekends.
