Head of Agency Derivatives Services Trade Control (VP)

The role will be heading up the European Team and reports into the Global head of Agency Derivatives Services Trade Control. In addition to the day to day management of a team of 10 onshore and 5 offshore, the successful VP level candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent controls, compliance with regulations, process reengineering (where required) and transparency around operational risks and metrics

Main Duties

*Day to day management of the team responsible for:

*Exchange and client margin calls processing for Listed Derivatives activity and associated controls. European OTC Clearing exchange reconciliations and margin call settlement.

*Onshore static processes for complex instrument set up, commission and static maintenance.

*Offshore vendor team: ensuring seamless execution by offshore vendor for global processes. Ensuring the appropriate controls are in place across the team and conforming to the required risk and control policies in place; Reengineering processes and redefining roles and responsibilities as appropriate.

*Supporting the growing OTC business and ensuring that processes within the department scale. Actively seeking opportunities to combine and standardise processes across listed and OTC clearing.

*Interacting closely with the global ADS treasurer in defining investment opportunities and execution of treasury strategy.

*Executing location strategy within the team.

*Seamless execution of projects, in conjunction with Change and technology teams for projects impacting the function (e.g. implementation of budgeted fees and commission tool) to include refinement of processes as well as technical delivery.

*People management: appraisals, coaching, recruitment and people development for the team.

*Facilitating flawless client service through focus on accurate execution of team activities.

*Breaking down and analysing complex problems within the front to back flow, managing large data sets where necessary to identify root causes.

Person Requirements

*Banking operations experience.

*In depth knowledge of investment banking processes and Operations.

*Experience of listed and / OTC clearing preferred but not essential.

*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

*Experience in business process reengineering.

*Successful track record in people management and offshore vendor management.

*Strong track record of execution and results, high level of drive to meet deadlines and targets.

*RANsys commissions and instruments experience an advantage.

*Ability to prioritise, be flexible and respond to changing environments.

*Strong internal relationship management skills with an ability to relate to people and work in ad-hoc teams.

*Strong time management and ability to coordinate with various teams to action items.

*Self starting team player, able to demonstrate initiative and work under little supervision.

*Ability to think logically and adopt a fact based approach to issue resolution.

*Confident in use of excel and data manipulation.
