Head of Americas Real Estate

Position Description

Morgan Stanley seeks to hire an experienced, forward-thinking and client-focused
corporate real estate executive to join as the Executive Director of Real Estate. This individual will be a proactive, solutions-oriented leader who is able to
identify efficiencies and decrease costs while maintaining a quality workplace environment
that meets the needs of Morgan Stanley' personnel, business units and infrastructure groups.

The successful candidate will achieve this goal through innovative thinking, the use of technology to develop inventive solutions, and exceptional client service.
At its core, Real Estate is a high-impact services function supported by
professionals with significant technical and interpersonal skills. The Executive Director for Americas Real Estate will have a variety of roles and responsibilities relating to real
estate and workforce enablement strategy, and will have a unique opportunity to work
across all of Morgan Stanley' business units. He or she will report to the Executive Director of Deliver and will collaborate extensively with the Finance, Legal and the Real Estate Management Team
Morgan Stanley occupies approximately 700 locations totaling 16 million square feet in the Americas. The Executive Director of Americas Real Estate will manage a team of people who are both outsourced and in-sourced.

Direct reports: Vice President Real Estate Portfolio Management
Other key relationships: Financial Controllers, Legal and Corporate Real Estate Management Team
Business Units: (Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and Institutional Securities

Skills Required

•Corporate Real Estate Portfolio Management
•Proven track record of developing, executing and managing real estate strategies that
meet corporate objectives. Morgan Stanley is a high-performance organization, and
the successful candidate must therefore possess a strong work ethic and hands-on
approach to business.
•Minimum of 15 years in a corporate real estate, real estate planning and technology,
workforce management and operations, or consulting role with a global organization.
•Experience managing or providing services to a geographically diverse portfolio in
excess of ten million square feet is ideal.
•Prior track record of re-engineering and transforming a corporate work place into a higher
performing, leading edge environment.
•Deep understanding of real estate processes, strategic sourcing,
lease transaction management, design and construction and project management.
•Experience integrating corporate real estate portfolios post acquisitions is highly

•Proven management skills, solid negotiating skills and strong interpersonal skills
•Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment, with the ability to build and sustain relationships
•International Experience
